About conference:

The popularity and demand for soybeans in the world is caused by a wide range of applications and great economic value. Its use and processing are carried out in more than ten branches of economic activity, which produce over four hundred types of products. In solving the problems of providing a person with full-fledged vegetable protein and developing a fodder base for animal husbandry, the preservation and replenishment of breeding and genetic collections of soybeans with new competitive varieties takes the leading place in all regions of the country.
A fundamentally important area of selective breeding research on soybeans is an increase in the productivity and resistance of domestic soybean varieties when cultivated in unfavorable conditions, an increase in the protein content in seeds based on the use of the results of fundamental research. The creation of soybean varieties in Russian research institutes is carried out using classical breeding methods with the inclusion of varieties and samples of various origins, including foreign ones, in the breeding process. An example of successful joint long-term work in the framework of international cooperation with China is the creation of the Kitross soybean variety, which is one of the most popular varieties in the Far East.
Russian research institutions have achieved positive results in the study of protective and adaptive reactions of soybean varieties, mechanisms of resistance to various external stress factors based on the determination of enzymatic activity in soybean leaves under the influence of herbicides, low temperatures, drought, waterlogging and other factors with their transfer to offspring through the seeds. The varieties, samples of cultivated and forms of wild soybeans with a high level of photosynthetic activity, providing an increase in plant productivity and protein content in seeds, have been identified.
A promising area of research is the use of modern genomic and biotechnological methods to accelerate the breeding process. The study of the genome of soybeans using molecular genetic markers provides the creation of new varieties of soybeans that are resistant to unfavorable environmental factors.
An equally important area is the study of the photoperiodicity of early maturing soybean varieties in order to identify the initial forms for inclusion in the breeding process and create varieties that are weakly responsive to changes in photoperiod, which will expand the ecological and geographical area of crop use.
For the Far East region, which is the all-Russian leader in the production of soybeans and is located in close proximity to the APR countries, research on phytosanitary control and the development of methods for protecting soybeans is of paramount importance. The cultivation of foreign varieties of soybeans leads to the spread of viral diseases that previously did not exist in soybean crops in Russia. The high resistance of the Amur soybean varieties to viral diseases, including dwarf mosaic viruses imported with seeds of foreign selection, was established.
Nowadays, there is no doubt about the relevance of scientific research on crop production, biotechnology, breeding, genetics, agriculture, physiology, soil microbiology, epidemiology, technologies of soybean cultivation. The conference will present the results of scientific research in the main areas of development of fundamental and priority applied research of soybeans, issues of its production in Russia and the countries of the Asia-Pacific region.
Scientists, post-graduate students of research and educational institutions, agricultural authorities, agronomists and heads of Russian farms are invited to participate in the conference. The conference is open for participation by representatives of foreign countries.
